NEWS RELEASE
NEW PATH YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES
***************************
New Path Youth & Family Services (New Path) is opening a new location in Barrie’s south end in order to meet the high demand for free and accredited child and youth mental health counselling services.

This past year, the agency saw a spike in demand for child, youth and family counselling services, as well as more recently an increase in the desire for in-person counselling services.

“New Path is committed to providing high-quality child and youth mental health counselling services, when, how and where families need them,” says Elizabeth McKeeman, CEO of New Path. “To help us continue to support families and youth, we are expanding to a new Barrie south location and hiring more staff in order to continue to keep pace with demand.

"We know this has been an especially challenging year for families and youth. We also want families and youth to know we’re here for you. Call us and we will get you the mental health supports you need.”

The new location is at 299 Lakeshore Dr.

Even as provincial restrictions loosen, COVID protocols remain in place at New Path office locations. For in-person appointments a COVID screening, medical grade mask (if you don’t have a medical-grade mask, one will be provided to you), physical distancing, proper hand hygiene and thorough cleaning protocols are in place.

New Path continues to offer services by phone as well as virtually. Appointments are available by calling New Path at 705-725-765 or toll free 1-866-566-7656 or by emailing [email protected]. A counsellor will connect back with families and youth to book appointments.
