Barrie and District Christmas Cheer is excited to announce that online applications are now open for those needing a little extra help this Christmas. Applicants can conveniently apply online using a computer, tablet, or mobile device, completely on their own time, by Dec. 3, 2021.

For the second time in the organization’s 47-year history of supplying food and toys to local families, Barrie and District Christmas Cheer is unable to process client applications in person.
After consulting with the local public health unit last year, Christmas Cheer had to shift gears on the fly, and build an entire online applications platform in order to ensure the safety of their applicants and volunteers.
The successful launch of this safe and secure virtual applications model will ensure that nearly 1,700 local families will receive the support they need this Christmas, from the comfort and privacy of their own homes.
Christmas Cheer wants all applicants to be aware that they will not be setting up application drop-in centers this year and all applications will be fully processed virtually going forward. Assistance can be provided over the telephone on a case-by-case basis by calling 705-739-0449 and dialling extension #1 to reach their applications team.
