Play ball! Barrie Community Sports Complex gets new scoreboards

City has replaced two scoreboards at its Midhurst facility, which were at the end of their useful life; total cost pegged at $141,000

There's no reason not to know the score at Barrie Community Sports Complex.

The city has replaced two scoreboards at its Midhurst facility, which were at the end of their useful life.

Vintage Throne Stadium, which is used by Barrie Baycats of the Intercounty Baseball League and Barrie Minor Baseball Association Baycats, among others, had its baseball scoreboard replaced.

As did Field No. 3, which is used for football, including the Huronia Stallions Football Club, at the Nursery Road facility.

The new scoreboards were approved capital items in the city’s budget and went to public tender.

The Vintage Throne Stadium scoreboard cost $75,000 and the Field 3 football scoreboard $66,000.

Both scoreboards were installed June 27.
