Offensive Weapon
BRADFORD, ON - A 68-year-old Bradford man is facing several weapons-related charges after a customer at a bar claimed to be a police officer and had what looked like a handgun.
On Nov. 1, 2018 around 12:30 p.m., South Simcoe Police officers were called to a bar on Holland St. East in Bradford West Gwillimbury for a report of an offensive weapon.
An employee told police that on Oct. 31, 2018, a customer who claimed to be a police officer was seen on several occasions that day with a handgun in his possession. Investigation revealed the man was not a police officer and the handgun was a pellet gun.
South Simcoe Police Service officers subsequently executed a search warrant at a Bradford address and seized two pellet guns of .177 calibre.
The suspect is charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Weapons for a Dangerous Purpose and Personating a Peace Officer.
Theft From Vehicle
BRADFORD, ON - On Thursday, November 1, 2018 around 5:00 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to the parking lot of a business located on Holland St. West in Bradford West Gwillimbury regarding a theft from a motor vehicle. Once on scene, police learned that a window on the vehicle had been broken and numerous valuables stolen. The theft occurred between 4 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.
