*************************
TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH – From December 27, 2015 and December 30, 2015 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to over 20 motor vehicle collisions.

All collisions reported minor injuries and the road conditions were slippery due to the freezing rain and late snowfall.

Motorists are reminded to drive according to the weather and road conditions and to avoid travelling if possible when bad weather is inclement.

When shovelling your driveway, please refrain from depositing the snow onto the roadway as it may cause drivers to lose control.

Section 181 –The Highway Traffic Act of Ontario states;

Deposit of snow on roadway – No person shall deposit snow or ice on a roadway without permission in writing so to do from the Ministry or the road authority responsible for the maintenance of the road.

Nottawasaga OPP reminds everyone to work together in keeping our area roadways safe this winter.
