Despite the wacky, unpredictable weather in recent days, Tuesday was a good day for a hike through the woods.
Paul McCreath led a snowshoe hike to the Hutchison Tract of Simcoe County Forest, near Bass Lake Side Road and Line 7 North of Oro-Medonte Township.
Conditions were surprisingly good in the bush. The snow was not too deep, and was not clumping despite barely sub-zero temperatures.
A fine layer of ice coated the trees, making the forest especially enchanting.
Tuesday’s group continues to grow with 16 hikers joining for the lively two-hour hike which featured lots of hills.
