Buskers headline Culture Days this weekend

BARRIE - Barrie Culture Days will take place this weekend with a full line-up of entertainment for the whole family.

The main attraction this year will be Barrie’s Busking Out happening on Saturday, Oct. 1 throughout the downtown. Barrie’s Busking Out will feature acrobats, escape artists, fire performances, visual artists and talented musicians.

Barrie’s Busking Out event is just one of the many events taking place this weekend in the city as part of Culture Days. The weekend will also include local folk artists performing free shows while riding Barrie Transit, a community mural project, walking tours, a chance for members of the public to conduct the Huronia Symphony and much more.

Culture Days is a federal initiative that was created in response to the growing recognition that a vibrant arts and cultural sector contributes directly to a healthy and stable society.

Barrie has been celebrating Culture Days since 2010 with the goal of providing a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the arts.
