Stretch of Dunlop West closing for two weeks starting Oct. 15

The City of Barrie is advising that a full closure of Dunlop Street West will start on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and will be in place until Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The closure is associated with the construction of the development at 55 Dunlop St. W. (Debut Condos). The contractor will be removing the existing tower crane within the building, as well as decommissioning the existing underground water services associated with the development.

Businesses and residents need to be aware of the following:

Between Oct. 15 until Oct. 20:

  • A full road closure of Dunlop Street West between Toronto Street and Maple Avenue.
  • Mary Street will change from a one-way street to two-way to allow residents, employees and customers of area businesses to travel southbound on Mary Street from Ross Street to their destination. 
  • The Dunlop/Mary Street intersection will be fully closed.

Between Oct. 21 until Oct. 29:

  • Dunlop Street West will be fully closed from east of Mary Street to Maple Avenue.

On Oct. 21:

  • Mary Street will return to being a one-way street.

As well, Barrie Transit routes 2 and 8B-SB will be on detour during the road closure. Visit myridebarrie.ca/news for more information.
