Barrie Firefighters were called to a construction site around 1:30 a.m. Friday to battle a blaze at a construction site.
The fire broke out in a unit of student housing under construction at 60 Georgian Drive and spread to at least three others.
"Twenty-four firefighters were on scene," said Samantha Hoffman, Barrie Fire Public Life and Safety Officer. "Because it was unoccupied we did a defensive attack."
No one was injured and the damage estimate is not yet known.
"We have called in the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal and Emergency Management," said Hoffman. "The fire is suspicious."
Barrie Police are also investigating the blaze.
