Swim advisories issued earlier this week for a pair of Barrie beaches have been lifted.

The two affected beaches were Centennial and Minet's Point.

Based on water sample results from Wednesday, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit recommended the advisories be taken down.

During a swim advisory, signs are posted to indicate recent water samples show bacteria levels that may increase risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose or throat infections or stomach illness. If you choose to swim during an advisory, health officials recommend you avoid dunking your head or swallowing the water.

The initial advisories had been announced Tuesday following samples taken on Monday.
