Traffic disruptions will be lingering in the Anne Street area a little longer than expected due to "unforeseen circumstances."
Work happening near the bridge over Highway 400, which was initially expected to be completed on Oct. 13, has now been pushed back to Nov. 30, according to the city.
Green Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and its sub-contractors working with the City of Barrie have been implementing intermittent lane closures, restrictions and lane shifts on Anne Street North, from Dunlop Street West to Donald Street/Wellington Street West, since Sept. 28.
These lane modifications will be in effect daily at 7 a.m. and until 7 p.m. until the end of the month.
The city says these measures are needed as part of its road resurfacing program.
The timing is also subject to weather conditions.
