Victoria Village has kept residents safe throughout the COVID-19 pandemic by providing an environment of support and exceptional care for the 200-plus seniors who call Victoria Village home, including 128 long-term care residents.
All staff are fully vaccinated and, to date, more than 30,000 rapid antigen tests have been administered. Residents are currently receiving fourth vaccinations and the majority of staff have received booster shots.
“What sets Victoria Village apart is our staff’s ongoing commitment to safety both at work and in the community,” states Victoria Village president and CEO Bill Krever.
He further attributes the success to consistent safety measures, including solid infection control practices, ongoing rapid testing and screening and the diligent use of personal protective equipment. The residents’ families have also played an important role, showing support and understanding during this very difficult time.
Victoria Village worked closely with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit throughout the pandemic and held several vaccination clinics for residents and staff.
“Public health and Ontario Health provided excellent support and resources that are essential during a health crisis,” stated Krever.
"Despite the challenges the pandemic poses, Victoria Village remains strong with continued commitment from staff and a solid foundation of health and safety practises. I’m confident we’ll continue to keep our residents safe and healthy."
