COLLINGWOOD - Canada Snowboard and Snowboard Ontario are pleased to announce Tourism Simcoe County as a Gold Sponsor and host of the 2016 Sport Chek Air Nation Freestyle National Championships.
The Sport Chek Air Nation Freestyle National Championships, taking place at Mount St. Louis Moonstone and Horseshoe Resort, both located in the heart of Simcoe County, brings together the rising stars in Freestyle Snowboarding from across the country, March 7-13, 2016 as they compete in Slopestyle, Halfpipe and Big Air events.
“Tourism Simcoe County is a natural fit for us, and the daily excitement experienced within Simcoe County is second only to the excitement we will see at Air Nation,” said Snowboard Ontario Executive Director, Janet Richter.
Ideally situated one hour north of Toronto, Simcoe County is considered by many to be Ontario’s four-season outdoor playground.
Visitors enjoy breathtaking views, a vibrant arts and cultural community, walking trails, parks, marinas, shopping and dining, and a variety of world class entertainment, snowmobiling, skydiving, and horse racing to lounging on the beach, boating, and skiing.

This is the first time Ontario has hosted the event since 1996, and with over 200 athletes competing the 2016 Air Nation Freestyle Championships is not to be missed.

Canada Snowboard and Snowboard Ontario are proud to host the 2016 Sport Chek Air Nation; a national championship that gathers the rising stars in Freestyle Snowboarding from across the country.
From March 7 to 13, athletes will do their best to polish up their tricks and impress the judges in the Half Pipe and the Slopestyle course at Mount St. Louis Moonstone, Ontario.
For the first time, Big Air will be added to the equation and athletes will have the opportunity to compete on a different jump at Horseshoe Resort.
