After six games of suspenseful, fast-moving, edge-of-your-seat hockey, the U10A Barrie Colts claimed the title of 2021-22 U10A York-Simcoe champions.
The boys finished third in the round-robin with a 2-1-1 record, scoring 21 goals and allowing just five, advancing them to the semifinals.
The Colts were in a do-or-die situation playing against their rival, the East Gwillimbury Eagles. Down by two goals halfway through the third period, the boys dug deep and battled right to the end. Tying it up, they headed into a nail-biting overtime. The Colts scored five minutes into OT to advance to the final.
In the final, the King Rebellion and the Barrie Colts both came out hungry for a win. Scoreless after two, the intensity continued as it was anyone's game. The Barrie boys gave it everything they had and scored with five minutes left. They were able to hold off King Rebellion from scoring, taking the win and making them the 2021-22 York-Simcoe champions.
