Barrie is about to become the home of a groundbreaking new sports facility.
Pickleplex Social Club is set to open its doors in the former Sears location at 521 Bayfield St., offering a premier space for pickleball enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in Barrie, making it the go-to destination for local residents eager to embrace Canada’s fastest-growing sport.
To celebrate this exciting new addition to Barrie, Pickleplex Social Club will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 24, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. The event will feature remarks from Steven Fry, co-founder and president of Pickleplex and a proud Barrie native, alongside local industry representatives and dignitaries including Mayor Alex Nuttall, and Coun. Ann-Marie Kungl. This will be followed by photo opportunities and interviews with key contacts both inside the facility and around the venue.
Pickleplex will officially open to the public on Jan. 25, 2025, at 7 a.m., offering a world-class venue with multiple indoor courts, and a welcoming atmosphere for social and competitive play.
The space is designed to accommodate everyone, from beginners to seasoned pros, and will feature leagues, social events, and private rentals for families, friends and businesses.
