31-year-old Barrie male faces 36 charges

Barrie Police first began investigating a theft and fraud with stolen credit cards on Sunday, June 18, 2017 after a wallet was removed from a vehicle on Templeton Crescent, in the City of Barrie.  

The stolen cards were used at various gas stations and convenience stores throughout the night they were stolen and video surveillance was collected by the investigating officer.

On Tuesday, June 20, 2017 shortly after 11:30 p.m. officers were at a residence on Innisfil Street for an alternate police related call and identified the male captured in video surveillance. The 31-year-old Barrie male was charged with the following offences:

  • 15 counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • 11 counts of Use of Credit Card
  • 10 counts of Fraud Under $5,000

The male was held for bail to answer to the long list of charges he was facing.
