Provincial police are investigating a theft of almost $100,000 in silver bars from a Meaford home.
A scant news release explained the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a theft on Oct. 23 at 1:37 p.m. at a home in the Municipality of Meaford.
"As a result of the investigation, the Grey Bruce OPP learned that over the span of two years, approximately $95,992 of silver bars were stolen from the victim's residence," states the news release.
Grey Bruce OPP's media relations staffer, Krista Linthorne, clarified the silver had not been looked at in the last two years, so the theft could have occurred all at once, or gradually.
Silver bars in Canada cost approximately $50 to $60 per ounce.
