ORILLIA, ON - On Saturday June 03, 2017 the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are issuing a public safety warning. This warning comes after police responded to a domestic incident at a Mary Street residence in the City of Orillia.

On June 03, 2017 at approximately 08:15 police responded to a residence on Mississaga Street, West where the suspect from the earlier incident was seen. Members of the Orillia OPP attended the residence and set up containment in the area.

Police are asking residents in the areas of Mississaga Street West between Volunteer Drive and McKenzie Street and Mary Street between McKenzie Street and O'Brien Street to stay inside their houses and for the general public to stay away from this area. Police feel at this point attending these areas would pose a risk to public safety.

The OPP have dispatched additional resources including the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Central Region Canine (K9) and the OPP Mobile Support Unit.

This incident has ended without further incident. The suspect is now in custody and there is no longer a threat to public safety. This incident is still under investigation and further information will be released once it becomes available.
