No injuries have been reported following a fire at a Barrie homeless encampment this morning.

Barrie Fire Chief Kevin White told BarrieToday crews got the call around 10 a.m. to the encampment, located near Vespra and Victoria Streets.

"It was about 15 feet in diametre. There were no structures involved, it was mostly wooden skids," he said. "(There were) no injuries."

Two trucks and eight firefighters responded to the call, he said, noting no one was at the site when crews arrived.

White said the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
