The annual Festive RIDE campaign was launched last week and Orillia OPP has already charged five people with impaired-related offences.
The charges were laid between Nov. 22 and 25.
Andrew Trottier, 29, of Barrie, has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol, operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus) and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
John Burleigh, 62, of Wasaga Beach, has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).
Ka Chung Kwok, 43, of Orillia, has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).
Meghan Kranert, 32, of Parry Sound, has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol or drug.
John Strybosch, 60, of London, has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus).
