A 55-year-old Bracebridge resident was killed in a collision involving a train and a vehicle earlier today, police say.
A member of the public called 911 to report a train and passenger vehicle had collided at a train crossing on Jones Road near Winhara Road in Gravenhurst on Wednesday, Jan 10 at 12:45 p.m.
Bracebridge OPP, along with Muskoka EMS and Gravenhurst firefighters responded to the incident.

Gravenhurst firefighters were able to assist with gaining access to the vehicle, notes a media release from the OPP.
"Unfortunately, the driver, a 55-year-old Bracebridge resident, was pronounced dead at the scene," notes the release.
No one else was injured during the collision.
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) team. More details will be released as they become available.
