An 81-year-old Bradford man was transported to a Toronto trauma centre last night following a serious collision in Bradford.

On Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, around 7 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the area of Holland Street West and Deer Run Crescent. Officers learned that a westbound vehicle was stopped on Holland Street West to make a left turn onto Deer Run Crescent when it was rear-ended by a second vehicle.

Both drivers exited their vehicles and stood in the road to assess the damage. A third westbound vehicle then collided with the second vehicle, pushing it forward where it struck the driver of the second vehicle. Paramedics transported the 81-year-old Bradford man to a local hospital. He was later taken to a Toronto trauma centre with critical injuries.

The other drivers suffered minor injuries. The road was closed for a collision reconstruction investigation by Traffic Unit officers but has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
