Barrie police are appealing to the public for help with an investigation into a crash last night in the city’s south end which left a car resting in an awkward angle against a pole and its driver in hospital with a serious injury.
Officers responded to the call around 8 p.m. on Monday after two vehicles collided at the intersection of Huronia Road and Yonge Street.
Both vehicles were travelling eastbound on Yonge when they collided in the intersection, according to police.
A woman in the car which came to rest at an awkward angle up against a pole was transported to local hospital with serious injuries.
Roads in the area were closed until midnight before police reopened them to traffic.
Police say charges are pending.
Police are also seeking witnesses or dash-cam video from the scene.
“We have had some come in overnight,” police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday this morning. “Apparently there were a lot of people in the area last night around that time — pedestrians and motorists.”
Anyone who can assist is asked to email the investigating officer at [email protected].
