Driver critically injured in road rage incident

Incident escalated, resulting in one driver falling to the ground and suffering a head injury

BRADFORD - On Friday, Sept. 22 at approximately 7:20 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service were called to the intersection of Line # 9 and 5th Side Road in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Two drivers, one operating a 2010 Grey Dodge Dakota pickup truck and the other operating a 2002 Red Mazda Protege 5 became involved in an interaction at the intersection of County Road # 27 and Line # 9.

The interaction continued with the two vehicles following each other eastbound on the 9th Line and ended at the intersection of the 9th Line and 5th Side Road. The driver of the Mazda exited his vehicle and approached the pickup truck.

The incident escalated, resulting in the driver of the Mazda Protege 5 falling to the ground and suffering a head injury. He was transported by land ambulance to the Upper Canada Mall where he was transported by Air Ambulance to a Toronto area trauma centre. His injuries are considered critical.
