KAWARTHA LAKES - Yesterday, Sept. 6, 2017 at approximately 6:50 p.m., emergency services personnel, including officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police attended the Omemee Beach area for a possible drowning.
A 63-year old-man from Denmark, who was visiting family in the area, was recovered from the water, near a partially submerged kayak. The man was transported to hospital but pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
