On Thursday, June 22 just before 12:30 a.m., police arrested a 26-year-old Barrie man, downtown Barrie after observing his vehicle being driven erratically and the wrong way down a one-way street.

The vehicle came to a stop on Clapperton Street, near the Simcoe Hotel. It was at this point police observed one of four tires to be flat. When speaking with the driver he instantly became confrontational and belligerent with police.

He was arrested for care and control and transported to the Barrie Police Station. While in custody, the accused continued to be confrontational with police and (allegedly) broke a reinforced glass partition in the cell area.

The accused has been charged with care and control, two counts of driving disqualified and fail to comply with probation, and mischief under $5,000. He will appear in an Ontario court of Justice in June.
