Update (12:35 p.m.): A BarrieToday reporter at the scene says there was a fire among a cluster of pine trees near the motel beside the Highway 400 on-ramp. A section of Bayfield Street was being reopened.

Highway 400's southbound on-ramps are closed at Bayfield Street in Barrie for a police investigation.
The notice was posted to X, the social-media platform formerly known as Twitter, at 11:48 a.m. on Wednesday by Ontario 511, an official account of the Ministry of Transportation.
