Two Toronto-area residents face drug-trafficking charges after a traffic stop yesterday on Highway 93 in Springwater Township.
As a result of an ongoing police investigation, officers from Southern Georgian Bay and Orillia OPP’s street crime units pulled over a vehicle at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, resulting in a fentanyl seizure and the arrest of the vehicle's driver and passenger.
Jahiem Billy, 22, of North York, has been charged with both possession for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking of a Schedule 1 substance (opiod other than heroin) in connection to the traffic stop.
Toronto resident Sherquan Remy, 20, faces the same two charges as well two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
The pair remain in custody for a bail hearing and will appear at a future date before the Ontario Court of Justice.
