A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle this week on Highway 400, south of Dunlop Street.

The victim has been identified by police as a 20-year-old Barrie man, who was an international student originally from Bangladesh.

Ontario Provincial Police have called the incident "an accidental death." Southbound lanes were closed for the investigation.

The college says support is available for anyone who needs to talk. Free and confidential counselling is available to all students, and employees are encouraged to access the Employee and Family Assistance Program.

In memory of Hasan, the Georgian flag was lowered to half-mast at the Barrie campus.
