On Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at 4 p.m. a male walked out of the Home Depot located at 10 BarrieView Drive, in the City of Barrie, after a male concealed two power drills and exited the store without paying.

Loss Prevention approached the male telling him he was under arrest but he began to run. The accused ditched the drills in attempts to gain more momentum but the loss prevention officer was not far behind.

He attempted to hide in some bushes across the road and once flushed out he ran into the LCBO located on Caplan Avenue.

Police arrived at the LCBO where the male was located hiding in the back of the store carefully under the loss prevention officers watch. He was out of breath and sweaty from his attempt at outrunning the law.

The 38-year-old Barrie male was charged with Theft Under $5,000, Escape Lawful Custody,  and Breach of Probation x 2. He will be in court next month to answer to his charges.
