Man charged in relation to theft from donation box

On Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2017 at approximately 10:55 a.m., a 47-year-old Port McNicoll man entered a business on King Street. Video surveillance captured the male breaking into a donation box and stealing the money from inside it.

Further investigation revealed the male was bound by a probation order and was determined to be breaching the conditions of that order. On Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, the male was located and arrested in Midland.

Donald Paul Longworth was held in police custody and is scheduled to attend Barrie Provincial Court on Aug. 30, 2017.

CC 334(b) - theft under $5,000
CC 430(4) - mischief under $5,000
CC 733.1(1) - fail to comply with probation order
