Man injured, south-end home damaged in morning crash: police

Barrie police say driver backed into Baldwin Lane home around 10 a.m.

A damaged SUV sits on Baldwin Lane in Barrie's south end on Friday morning after the vehicle backed into it a home, causing damage to the garage.

A man was transported to hospital with undisclosed injuries after the vehicle he was driving struck a house in south-end Barrie this morning.

City police received the call for what they said was a “personal injury collision” at 10:02 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10.

“The male (driver) appears to have reversed into a home located on Baldwin Lane,” police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday.

Leon said there is “some damage” to the garage area and “significant damage” to the rear of the SUV involved in the collision.

Baldwin Lane is located near Burton Avenue and Bayview Drive. 

The police traffic unit is assisting with the investigation, which is ongoing.
