A man has been seriously injured after a collision in the south-end of Barrie early this morning.
At 5:03 a.m., city police were made aware of a collision which had occurred on Essa Road, just south of Salem Road.
Police said they located the 26-year-old man who was operating the vehicle, which was travelling northbound on Essa Road.
The man lost control and his vehicle left the roadway, coming to rest on its roof in a heavily wooded area, according to police.
Police have determined the collision occurred at about 2 a.m.
The man was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for a serious head injury.
Police are requesting anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or has dash-camera video of a white-coloured Jeep travelling in the area at around 2 a.m., to contact Det.-Const. Langdon by email at [email protected].
