Provincial police are investigating another home invasion in Tay Township.

This time, Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers responded early Monday morning to a reported home invasion on Second Avenue in Port McNicoll.

While the residents weren’t hurt as a result of the 2 a.m. incident, the OPP’s emergency response and tactics and rescue teams along with canine unit were called to the scene to help search for the suspects.

The investigation is now being led by the detachment’s major crime unit with support from the forensic identification unit.

Police haven’t said whether this incident is related to a similar crime at a Midland Bay Woods home on Oct. 25.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen something suspicious or who lives in the area and has exterior home surveillance/door cameras to contact police at (888) 310-1122 or [email protected].

As well, investigators would like to speak with anyone who was driving in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage or seen something suspicious.

Those wishing to submit a tip anonymously, can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or submit information online here.

Furthermore, investigators stress the importance of subscribing to the security related CAMSafe program, which was designed to assist police investigators.
