TOWNSHIPS OF NEW TECUMSETH AND ESSA - On Tuesday, Apr. 4, 2017, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and members of the Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit, assisted Toronto Police Services Guns and Gangs Task Force and Drug Squad in the execution of multiple Criminal Code Search Warrants in the Townships of New Tecumseth and Essa.
The execution of a search warrant at a residence in Tottenham resulted in two adult males and two adult females being arrested and charged with drug trafficking related offences. They have been released from custody with future court dates.
Two additional adult males were arrested and charged with numerous firearms related offences including trafficking of firearms after the execution of a second Search Warrant in Tottenham. One male was released on bail and the other male still remains in custody.
The execution of a third Search Warrant at a residential address in Essa resulted in one adult male being arrested and charged with multiple firearms related offences, including trafficking of firearms. The male still remains in custody.
Several firearms and quantities of drugs were seized as a result of the three Search Warrants executed.
