Motorcyclist airlifted after Tay Township crash

OPP have closed the southbound lane of Highway 400 at Port Severn Road to facilitate investigation of the collision

TAY TOWNSHIP - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently at the scene of serious single motor vehicle collision on Highway 400 south just north of Quarry Road in Tay Township, Ont.  

The collision occurred at approximately 2:14 p.m. today (June 21, 2017).

A southbound motorcycle lost control on Highway 400 for unknown reasons and exited the roadway. The male driver is 51 years old and is from the Lindsay area. Due to the serious injuries he was transported to a Toronto area hospital by Ornge Air Ambulance.

OPP officers from the Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) are at the scene assisting with the investigation. Georgian Ambulance and Tay Township Fire also attended the scene and assisted police.

As a result of this collision, the OPP have the southbound lane of Highway 400 closed at Port Severn Road.
