ESSA TWP. — A gas station, cannabis store, nail salon and auto-parts shop were all hit by a pair of thieves early this morning in Angus.
Shortly before 4 a.m. on Dec. 31, Nottawasaga OPP officers were dispatched to a break-and-enter in progress at the Ultramar gas station and Uplift Cannabis store located at 165 Mill St. Police say the suspects fled the scene prior to officers' arrival.
"The preliminary investigation revealed that two unknown suspects, believed to be two males, attended the address and smashed both front doors," police stated in a news release. "The two suspects were then seen by a nearby witness smashing the door of the nail salon Yes Nails, located at 223 Mill St."
The OPP canine unit was dispatched to the area, but was unsuccessful in locating the suspects, police say.
Upon further investigation, police say it was determined that the NAPA AUTOPRO, located at 209 Mill St., had been broken into as well.
Video footage was obtained by investigators at the scene.
Suspect No. 1 is described as a male wearing a grey hood, black jacket, blue jeans, black Nike shoes and holding a red backpack.
Suspect No. 2 is described as a male with a grey hood, olive jacket and holding a backpack.
The investigations are still ongoing and it's unknown if anything was stolen, according to police.
Area residents are being to review their security or dash-cam footage for any suspicious activity that may be helpful in this investigation between 3 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., on Tuesday Dec. 31, 2024.
