Pedestrian in serious condition after hit-and-run at Bayfield Mall

Crash happened around 7 a.m. at entrance to mall parking lot from Coulter Street; 'it doesn’t appear the vehicle remained on scene,' says police official

City police are investigating this morning after a possible fail-to-remain collision involving a pedestrian in Barrie’s north end that has left a man in hospital with serious injuries.

Police say they received the call at approximately 7 a.m. on Tuesday from the scene at the entrance to the Bayfield Mall from Coulter Street.

“It doesn’t appear the vehicle remained on scene,” police communications co-ordinator Jennett Mays told BarrieToday.

Mays said the investigation is still its early stages.
