A male was taken into custody after city police responded to a person-in-crisis incident in north Barrie this morning.
“It was a person in crisis in the home and we just needed to have an investigation in order to be able to get them out without issue, which (police officers) were able to do,” said Jennett Mays, Barrie police communications co-ordinator.
“It was out of an abundance of caution … so we could interact with the individual and get them out safely," she added.
Mays said the incident was contained to a home. There were no weapons involved and there were no injuries reported.
She said just after 9 a.m. on Thursday that the incident had just wrapped up in the area of Livingstone Street West and McDougall Drive.
The public had been asked to avoid the area.
