Following the execution of two Criminal Code Search Warrants and the arrest of six people, Investigators of the Barrie Police Street Crime Unit have seized an abundant of illicit drugs with a combined street value of $105,000.
- 138 grams of Cocaine
- 30 pounds of Marijuana
- 423 grams of Marijuana Resin (Hash)
- 30 OxyContin tablets
- 65 grams of MDMA (Molly)
Investigators also seized a prohibited weapon –Flashlight Taser, a large quantity of Canadian Currency and drug paraphernalia indicative to drug trafficking.
Six people were arrested and following a further investigation five people have now been charged and will appear in bail court.
A 32-year-old man from Barrie has been charged with; Possession of a Controlled Substance(s) – Cocaine, Marihuana, Cannabis Marihuana Resin, OxyContin and MDMA, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Marihuana, Cannabis Marihuana Resin, OxyContin and MDMA, and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon – Flashlight Taser.
A 21-year-old woman from Barrie has been charged with; Possession of a Controlled Substance(s) – Cocaine, Marihuana, Cannabis Marihuana Resin, OxyContin and MDMA, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Marihuana, Cannabis Marihuana Resin, OxyContin and MDMA and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon – Flashlight Taser.
A 34-year-old man from Barrie has been charged with; Possession of a Controlled Substance(s) – Cocaine, Marihuana, Cannabis Marihuana Resin, OxyContin and MDMA, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Marihuana, Cannabis Marihuana Resin, OxyContin and MDMA and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon – Flashlight Taser.
A 30-year-old woman from Barrie has been charged with; Possession of a Controlled Substance(s) – Cocaine, Marihuana, Cannabis Marihuana Resin, OxyContin and MDMA, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Marihuana, Cannabis Marihuana Resin, OxyContin and MDMA and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon – Flashlight Taser.
A 32-year-old man from Innisfil has been charged with; Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marihuana and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Marihuana.

Members of the Barrie Police Street Crime Unit had commenced an investigation in regards to drug trafficking in the fall of 2016.
On Wednesday, February 22, 2017, members of the Barrie Police Street Crime Unit executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence on Engel Street, in the City of Barrie. A second warrant was executed with the assistance of South Simcoe Street Crime Unit at a residence on Innisfil Beach Road, in Innisfil Township.
Six people have been arrested; two men and woman from Barrie, as well as a man and two women from Innisfil.
They now face numerous drug related charges including possession of a prohibited weapon.
Further information will be released as it becomes available. Investigators continue to process the evidence seized from both locations.
