Police discover a stolen vehicle parked at a Mary Street address

On Sept. 3 2017, around 5 p.m., Barrie Police attended an address on Mary Street regarding a vehicle parked in a rear lot. Persons had been seen within the vehicle who were suspected of being involved in drug activity.

On arrival, police located the unoccupied vehicle which was reported stolen from Calgary. The licence plate was reported stolen from Saskatchewan.

Police were conducting their investigation when a male and female suspect returned to the area.

A male was arrested and a female fled into a nearby apartment but was arrested a short time after.

A search of the interior of the vehicle turned up drugs including crystal meth, hash and marijuana. Also located were numerous credit cards, cell phones and weigh scales.

Investigation revealed the 25-year-old male was currently on a probation order and recognizance relating to previous offences from other jurisdictions which he was breaching.

The 22-year-old female was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant from Calgary and on a probation order which she was also breaching. 

Both parties were charged with numerous offences and transported to the Barrie police station and held for a bail hearing.
