On Tuesday, June 6, 2017, police responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Dunlop Street, west of Tiffin Street, in the City of Barrie, between 1:40 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.
The area in which the collision took place is currently under construction, leaving two lanes to merge into one prior to the intersection of Dunlop and Tiffin Street.
At the time of the collision, a tractor trailer had been heading eastbound on Dunlop Street, and as the two lanes merged, the suspect vehicle sped up and passed the tractor trailer on the right-hand side making contact.
The suspect failed to stop after hitting the side of the trailer, and police are looking to speak with the driver and/or any witnesses.
The suspect vehicle is described as;
- Silver pick-up truck, similar to an F150
- Hauling a red wood trailer
