Police say Carolyn Pringle found safe (update)

Carolyn Pringle, 61, was last seen wearing light blue track pants, a white top and dark cardigan. Police say they have confirmed she does not have a jacket

12:50 p.m. update:

Police say missing woman Carolyn Pringle has been found safe. Police issued a statement thanking the public "for their support and efforts during the search."

10:01 a.m. update:

Barrie Police have updated their description of missing woman Carolyn Pringle, 61.

Police say she is 4'8", 95 pounds, has grey collar length hair (possibly in a pony tail) and shuffles with one arm pulled towards chest when walking.

An OPP helicopter is searching the city as Barrie Police continue to look for Carolyn Pringle, a 61-year-old woman who has been missing since Wednesday.

Police are using a UAV and a K9 unit, and officers and paramedics are searching on the ground in the area of Peel Street/Grove Street/Bayfield Street.

She was last seen wearing light blue track pants, a white top and dark cardigan. Police say they have confirmed she does not have a jacket.

Pringle is very petite, standing four-foot-eight and weighing 95 pounds and frequents Tim Hortons and malls, say police.

Barrie Police Service is currently asking for the public's assistance in locating 61-year-old female Carolyn Pringle, who went missing from her residence on Peel Street, in the City of Barrie, sometime before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. 

Police are concerned for her safety as Carolyn requires medication for a pre-existing medical condition and may be confused and disoriented. It is out of the norm for Carolyn to leave her residence for this length of time, at night, or off her usual route. She was last seen walking northbound on Peel Street. 

Carolyn is described as:

  • 4'8", 95lbs
  • Slight, small build
  • Medium brown hair, in ponytail
  • Wearing blue jacket, light blue track pants, white top, and dark button up cardigan
