The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance after a theft was reported in the City of Barrie.

On Saturday, May 4, 2019, shortly after 7:00 p.m., two males entered the south-end Walmart and proceeded to the grocery section of the store where they selectively choose steak and chicken products.

The males then concealed the selected items in bags that they had brought with them while in the automotive section of the store and eventually made their way towards the front of the store where they abandoned their grocery cart and calmly picked up the grocery stuffed bags and walked out of the store.

These actions were closely being monitored by the Loss Prevention Officers (LPO’s) assigned to the store.

As the males left the store without paying for the selected items, they were approached by the LPO’s and one of the suspect’s very quickly gave up one of the bags of food as they fled on foot from the store and east onto Mapleview Drive.
