Sunday night crash on Hwy. 400 sends one to trauma centre

One driver was taken to a trauma hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 400, north of the ramp to Crooked Bay Road in Georgian Bay Township.

A crash involving two vehicles southbound on Highway 400, just north of the Crooked Bay Road ramp in Georgian Bay Township, sent one driver to a Toronto-area trauma hospital Sunday evening.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP officers, District of Muskoka paramedics and Georgian Bay Township firefighters were called to the scene at 9:10 p.m., June 4, where five people were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

One of the drivers had to be extricated by firefighters before being taken to an area hospital and was then transported to a Toronto-area trauma hospital with serious injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old North York man has been charged with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
