Provincial police have arrested a Collingwood man following an armed robbery at a local business Sunday night.

According to a news release from Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP, a suspect entered the store shortly before 9 p.m. on Sept. 22 and brandished a firearm while asking the employee to open the cash register.

"The employee complied and the suspect eventually left the business with an undisclosed amount of money," according to police.

Collingwood OPP officers, with a canine unit and the OPP emergency response team, responded to the robbery call and tracked down a suspect within 90 minutes of the robbery.

According to the news release, the store employee was not physically injured and it is believed the weapon used in the robbery was a replica firearm or BB gun.
