On Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, just before 9 p.m. police were flagged by a resident at the corner of Nelson Street and Strabane Avenue, in the City. Police were advised that three males had been observed attempting to gain entry into several vehicles that had been parked on Melrose Street.

The complaint provided police with a detailed description of the males, which led to all three males being located on Strabane Avenue.

One of the three males fled through a backyard when approached by police, although was located within minutes. Further investigation found that all three youths were unable to gain entry into any of the vehicles as a result of each of them being locked.

All three youths are between the ages of 17 and 15 years old and from the Barrie area. Each of them were cautioned for Theft and Trespass by Night, and later released to their parents.
