Three drivers charged with impaired in one hour

On Tuesday, June 6, 2017 between 10:50 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. Barrie Police Service received three separate calls for Impaired Drivers throughout the city, all resulting in charges.  

The first vehicle was reported at 10:50 p.m. when a male was seen leaving in a vehicle after drinking at a party on Georgian Drive. A second complaint of a vehicle driving dangerously in the area of Big Bay Point Road and Yonge Street, in the City of Barrie, came in a short time later.  

That complainant followed the vehicle to a driveway where the vehicle came to a stop, after driving on the whole way on its flat tire. The 23-year-old Barrie male was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Blood Alcohol Over 80mgs after blowing over double the legal limit.

The second vehicle was called in by concerned citizens just after 11 p.m. after a female was parked in the middle of the intersection of Hanmer Street West and Kozlov Street, in the City of Barrie.  

The female attempted to flee but was arrested for Impaired Driving as soon as police arrived on scene. The 42-year-old Barrie Female was charged with Impaired Driving and Refusal to Provide a Breath Sample.

The third vehicle was called in just before midnight after a citizen witnessed a vehilce strike a median sign and drive up a hill on Ceder Point Drive and Dunlop Street West, in the City of Barrie.  

The female driver was arrested and brought to the Barrie Police Service to provide breath samples. She blew over double the legal limit. The 26-year-old Angus female was charged with Impaired Driving and Blood Alcohol Over 80mgs.
