A Toronto man is facing charges after police say he was trafficking drugs in Collingwood.
The Collingwood-Blue Mountains and Huronia West OPP detachments began investigating in January, when they received information about someone attending numerous locations in Collingwood and trafficking cocaine, police said in a news release.
On Monday, police saw the suspect in Collingwood and conducted a traffic stop.
Police seized about three ounces of cocaine, almost $7,000 in Canadian currency, “and other items believed to be proceeds of crime, including expensive jewelry.”
With the assistance of the Greater Sudbury Police Service, a search warrant was executed in Hanmer and evidence related to the Collingwood investigation was seized.
The total value of the items seized is estimated to be more than $40,000.
Devone Nolan, 35, of Toronto, has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He has a March 5 court date in Collingwood.
