Wallet stolen from stroller. Police seek suspect

Police are seeking the public’s assistance following a theft. On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, police responded to a theft at Wendy’s Restaurant located at the corner of Dunlop Street West and Sarjeant Drive in the City of Barrie.

The theft was captured on video surveillance and police are looking to identify a female suspect and her male companion. 

At approximately 4:30 p.m., the victim had been pushing a stroller and sat down at a table near the exit. Her wallet had been placed in her child’s diaper bag which had been hanging from the stroller.

A woman had allegedly walked by exiting the restaurant, although stopped for a moment, glanced around and then quickly removed the victims wallet from the bag and fled the restaurant. 

The suspect had been accompanied by a male and young child. 

The suspects are described as:

Suspect 1

  • Female, white (28 to 35 years)
  • 5’6”
  • Heavy build
  • Blond hair - shoulder length 
  • Wearing a bright orange Under Armour hoodie

Suspect 2

  • Male (25 to 35 years)
  • Described as Indigenous descent 
  • Wearing a black hoodie, black pants and accompanying a young child (2 to 3 years), light coloured hair and wearing a orange and grey shirt.
